FALL 2009
Thanks to specific donations we were able to purchase projectors, mount kits, and document cameras for each of the Elementary classrooms!  The teachers are very excited to have these versatile tools readily available in their classrooms.

MARCH 2009
Eleven more laptops were purchased for teacher use. Additional laptops are still needed to upgrade the remainder of the teachers.  A second document camera was also purchased
.

FEBRUARY 2009
Sixteen more laptops were purchased for teacher use.  These laptops replace the very old desktop computers that those teachers had been using.  Additional laptops are still needed to upgrade the remainder of the teachers.

Five more projectors were purchased. Three were placed on carts to be used where needed. Two will be mounted in classrooms.
One document camera was purchased. This device will be shared among classrooms where needed to project written materials or show small objects.

OCTOBER 2008
The Walk-A-Jog-A-Thon is scheduled to raise money for laptops for the teachers and projectors for the classrooms.  Read more about this fund raising event by clicking here.

SEPTEMBER 2008
One projector and one laptop were ordered to be evaluated for use in the classrooms. The projector was mounted in the computer lab and is working well.  The laptop is being used and evaluated by the technology instructor, Mrs. Van Beek.
Some cabling runs for the new wireless access points were run at the West Campus building - this was not completed yet.
The wireless controller system was programmed and brought on-line at the West Campus building. 15 access points are on-line covering the majority of the classroom areas.

AUGUST 2008
38 new Dell computers were installed in the lab, library, and Student Union.  Much work was done to ensure they are easy to maintain and reliable to use.  The computers are all running Windows Vista Business Edition (and yes, it's working quite well so far).
New library software was purchased and installed.  The existing software was licensed for the Macintosh platform, so the decision was made to move to the more capable, web based version rather than pay to switch our license to the Windows platform and still have old software.
New network switches were installed and configured in both buildings. These switches replaced a variety of older, low tech switches.

JULY 2008
A new server was purchased to replace the current server.  The current server was running Novell Netware 6.5 and Groupwise for email. The new server is running Windows 2008 server and Exchange Server for email.
HP and Dell computers were evaluated for use in the new computer lab.

JUNE 2008
The School Board approved the technology plan to be implemented as funds are available.  The board earmarked part of the proceeds of the Kelloggsville building to the technology upgrade plan.
A generous donor offered to cover the costs of Phase I.  Implementation planning began immediately.
