Legacy Christian Moms In Touch is a group of mothers of students who gather once per week to pray for their children, the Legacy staff and school, and the Legacy community.
This group is part of a larger organization, Moms In Touch International (MITI), with groups in every state in the United States and in 120 countries around the world. These groups include mothers of students in public and private schools.
MITI was started in 1984 when one mother, Fern Nichols, felt a burden to pray for her sons as they entered junior high school and faced its challenges. She asked God to lead her to another mother who felt the same burden. This prayer was answered and soon a small prayer group was meeting weekly. Groups were formed in other schools, and after Moms In Touch was featured on the Focus on the Family radio show in 1988, groups started across the country.

The purposes of the Moms In Touch prayer group are:

To stand in the gap for our children through prayer.

To pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, stand boldly in their faith, and grow in their walk with God.

To pray for teachers and staff.

To provide support and encouragement to moms who carry heavy burdens for their children.

To pray for God’s guidance and care for our school and its families.

To be an encouragement and a positive support to our schools.
Moms who have prayed with a Moms In Touch group have found there is a great blessing in bringing the needs of their children and their school to God. It is natural for mothers to feel concern for their children, and there is nothing we can do to help them more than to put them in God’s hands as we pray!
The school staff submits prayer requests and praises to the group; they have expressed great appreciation for the prayer support received. And the mothers who meet to pray for each other’s children are greatly encouraged by the support within the group.
The Legacy Christian Moms In Touch group meets on Monday mornings at 8:30AM at the home of a Legacy mother, Janine Brouwer. The prayer time typically lasts one hour. Any mother of a Legacy Christian student who desires to pray is invited and encouraged to join the group on any available Monday morning.
